In 2019, Eelco Osse was allowed to take the stage again for a new award as the winner of the public award Prince Friso Engineering Award 2019. In the presence of Mabel Martine Wisse Smit, the widow of Prince Friso and Princess Beatrix at the time, Eelco stood out beautifully! Also on the far left of the photo is Martin van den Brink, president & CTO of ASML from Veldhoven.

An introductory video of Eelco was also made when he was still one of the nominees. Watch Eelco’s introductory video

Eelco Osse responded with: ‘It feels like a great honor to receive this award. I am so happy with this. To everyone who voted for me: thank you very much for your faith and trust in me. I think it is so great that this award is not just about the technical feats. It is about expertise and innovative capacity, but then linked to entrepreneurship and the impact on society. I find that special and important. Because with my work, with my contribution, I want to leave a better world behind. In fact: I would also like to see the world become a little better myself. To see progress as quickly as possible. With the award, KIVI wants, as they say, to make excellent engineers and their work visible. It is fantastic that our innovations are better and more widely visible. That will absolutely help us achieve our goals. Progress, that is what it is all about. And we are working very hard on that together with many engineers.’
