Research institute CERN in Geneva – known worldwide for the LHC, the most powerful particle accelerator in the world – has outsourced its largest order ever for Dutch industry to machine factory Boessenkool in Almelo. For Boessenkool, this prestigious order, worth over 2 million euros, is the largest order in its 117-year history. It concerns the delivery of almost 335 meters of ‘vacuum vessels’, or vacuum tubes, for the LHC.
