The steam train from Haaksbergen has been ‘running’ for quite some time now. Every now and then maintenance is not enough and major maintenance has to be carried out. Machinefabriek Boessenkool took on this job as ‘charity work’ because it is a beautiful piece of history where old classics, new techniques and enthusiastic professionals found each other.
The Stichting Museum Buurtspoorweg still operates this museum railway line between Haaksbergen and Boekelo in Overijssel. The foundation was established on 21 February 1967 and on 23 June 1989 it was the first railway company, besides the Nederlandse Spoorwegen, to obtain a transport concession for the Haaksbergen – Boekelo track section.
